When creating resource links to assets in our CMS a couple of users had inadvertently linked to the ‘._Filename.doc’ file created by OSX, instead of the intended ‘Filename.doc – on just under 300 files.
Running a quick query to return all the affected resources I used the REPLACE funtion in MYSQL to set all the asset values again (minus the ‘._’)
update TABLENAME
set value = REPLACE(value, '/._', '/')
where value like '%/._%'
I implemented JQueryUi’s accordion on a few sections of a recent project, styling up the headers and content from scratch so as to fit in with my site design. When it came to test the sections in IE7 however, the accordion simply displayed on the page as standard HTML h3’s and divs, as if the JQueryUI file had simply not been included in the page. After a last minute request to change a website so it automatically scrolls down to show Google Map when a search is submitted I was preparing to write some tacked on jQuery to provide the functionality. That was until I came across a Javascript function which already did exactly what I wanted, ScrollIntoView(). Continue reading “Javascript: ScrollIntoView()”
Have to say, this looks pretty good!
Quick post, more as a reference for myself, of how to get the extension of a file using PHP.
Discovered a great post on Cowburn.info outlining the various ways to do this and the time implications, ending up with:
$filename = 'mypic.gif';
$ext = pathinfo($filename, PATHINFO_EXTENSION);
being the best option. Continue reading “Getting File Extension Using PHP”
After developing and testing a mobile view for a site, I uploaded it to the live server and gave it a quick test. Loading it up on my iPhone the mobile view loaded as expected, but none of the jQuery features were working, as if the jQuery file hadn’t been uploaded. Continue reading “Mobile Safari jQuery Error”
