This book totally passed me by! I never used to be much of a reader, especially of fiction books, so I missed all the hype that lead to The Alchemist becoming one of the world’s most read books, selling over 150 million copies.

Having seen a lot of people’s “it changed my life” statements about it, followed by many a “don’t know what the hype is about” comments, I figured I needed to find out for myself.

6 Months On

Earlier this week I went swimming for the first time in many, many months. And coming to the end of only my 6th length I was mentally despairing at the effort it was taking.

My arms and legs were lead, and although I wasn’t moving that slowly, to me it felt like a snails pace.

In my head I was thinking back to a year ago, when I would happily push out 50, 60, even 70 lengths, sometimes after a spin class or a gym session. A year ago, when I had just completed the half marathon and 26 obstacles of Tough Mudder.

Reading List // Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance – Barack Obama

With Barack Obama ending his 8 year term as President of the United States, and all the media that came with it, I realised that I didn’t know much about the man before the White House.

Knowing that he’d had a few books published, many years before his election campaign, I decided to add these to my reading list to learn about his upbringing and what led him to go into politics.

Reading List // You Are A Badass – Jen Sincero

After one of my best friends recommended this book as being awesome it was already on my list of books to read. So when it came up as Audible’s Deal of the Day I decided, “what better time than now to start being a badass!”.

Firstly I love Jen Sincero’s style of writing. Secondly, I love Jen Sincero’s narration of her own writing.
